Date Night for Valentine’s Day – Our Top 5 Romantic Movies

Spend Valentine’s Day with your sweetie with an intimate night at the most exclusive place in town – your house! The evening could begin with a special dinner for two and end on the couch for a private movie screening.

While you plan your meal, we’ll take care of the hard part – choosing the film! Get ready to laugh, cry and sigh…we present to you our top five watch-as-a-couple romantic movies (in no particular order):

An Affair to Remember

An Affair to Remember

1. An Affair to Remember: Starring Cary Grant (swoon) and Deborah Kerr, this classic pulls at the heartstrings like no other. Featuring the scene on the top of the Empire State Building that inspired the characters of Sleepless in Seattle, An Affair to Remember will have you reaching for the tissue box and wishing you could see what happens after the movie’s over.

When Harry Met Sally

2. When Harry Met Sally: You’ll laugh, cry…and squirm agitatedly as Harry and Sally can’t seem to see what’s in front of them.

The Princess Bride

3. The Princess Bride: As you wish!! Who wouldn’t want to cross the Fire Swamp with the Dread Pirate Roberts? Funny and sweet, it’s the fairytale we wish never ended.

An Officer and a Gentlman

4. An Officer and a Gentleman: Oh, Richard Gere. He’s downright dashing in this one! The chemistry between him and co-star Deborah Winger sizzles, and the story itself is an awesome cross of Top Gun and Pretty Woman.

Casablanca

Casablanca

5. Casablanca: War-torn Europe, a torrid romance and a love triangle, all played with smolder and style by stars Humphrey Bogart and Ingrid Bergman. Plus, one of the most famous movie lines ever: “Louis, I think this is the beginning of a beautiful friendship.”

Other favorites we wanted to list but didn’t since this post would be far too long? Somewhere in Time, The Notebook, Moonstuck, Say Anything, Ghost, Dirty Dancing, A Philadelphia Story, A Room with a View, Roman Holiday, Breakfast at Tiffany’s , Pride & Prejudice, Sense & Sensibility, Love, Actually, Brokeback Mountain, Ever After, The Bridges of Madison County, Wall-E, Bull Durham, Slumdog Millionaire, Monsoon Wedding, Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon, Bladerunner.
