Kentucky Derby Bridal Style

The Kentucky Derby has a storied history, great food (mint juleps and Hot Browns, anyone?), as well as really fabulous style…all of which makes for wonderful wedding inspiration.

Of course, an elegant, classic wedding gown and Derby fascinator or hat is a must. When paired with a be-ribboned bouquet and shoes that echo the rosettes of the winner’s circle, you’ll be ready for your wedding day at the races!

Bridal Hairstyle {Ponytail}

Ponytails were all over the runways at Spring 2012 New York Fashion Week and are sure to be spotted on ladies everywhere as the weather heats up! Though casually throwing your hair up in a ponytail is more familiar than wearing a ponytail while saying “I do,” we think this flirty ‘do is great for the aisle.

Wear your ponytail high and full for a look that is elegantly retro…

Lea-Ann Belter Bride’s Bustles

Bus-tle

noun

1. A frame or pad to support and expand the fullness of the back of a woman’s skirt.

2. A bow, peplum, or gathering of material at the back of a woman’s skirt below the waist.

As far as definitions go, this one describing a bustle doesn’t help much! In wedding gown lingo, a bustle is what is formed with a gown’s train to raise it off the floor and make way for your dancing feet.

There are a few different kinds, American and French being the most popular, but it’s hard to imagine what exactly your Lea-Ann Belter Bridal gown will look like bustled!

Thanks to a few of our gorgeous brides, we can share how some women have bustled their Lea-Ann Belter gowns:

Bridal Style {Clutches}

Unless your bridal gown has pockets (some of Lea-Ann Belter’s can be made with them – just ask!), you’ll need someplace to keep your lipstick and license on your wedding day.

As far as we know, you’ve got four options:

  1. In your groom’s jacket: Though this seems like a good idea, it won’t be when you try to apply warm, soft lipstick or his coat is left behind.
  2. With a bridesmaid, parent, or trusted friend: Your things will definitely be safe! However, as the night wears on and your keeper of miscellany is nowhere to be found, not so much.
  3. Leave your stuff at home: Great, unless you go for a post-wedding cocktail in your gown. One of our brides did this and was carded! Luckily her groom and bridesmaids were there to insist she was not some crazy girl wearing a white gown who was trying to sneak past the bouncer. (We know this sounds absurd but swear it’s true!)
  4. A clutch: Not only will you be in charge of your things, but a new purse is always fun to shop for. Choose one that can be worn after the wedding and it’ll be money well spent.
